Kundalini yoga is known as the 'Yoga of Awareness' and was first brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan.

What to expect in a class

In yogic theory Kundalini is a primal energy (shakti). Kundalini is a sleeping, potential force in the human organism. Kundalini awakening occurs through meditation, pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures), mudras (hand gestures), bandhas (body locks) and the chanting of mantras, collectively known as a 'Kriya'. Each class is different and each Kriya is designed to have a different positive effect on your being.

Carolina (Arjan Hari Kaur). Founder of Kundalini Yoga Brisbane has been trained in Spain, India and Australia. Carolina's journey with Kundalini Yoga has been both powerful and life changing. Her roots are in Barcelona, finding the incredible path of heart opening and self discovery through Kundalini Yoga that she brings to her teaching. Carolina came to Australia in 2013 and began sharing the Kundalini teachings with the local community in Brisbane. She enjoys working with people to create positive change through her Kundalini Yoga and Meditation classes and workshops. Her mission is to help people to live healthily and passionately. Carolina has seen how Kundalini Yoga opens people up to feeling at a deeper, more intimate level. She enjoys seeing students evolve and grow with clarity of mind, a healthy body and a balanced lifestyle.

Jamie is your quintessential go-getter and high achiever, with her Singaporean Chinese heritage to thank for her fierce tenacity. Previously an Environmental Scientist, Jamie found yoga in the gym many years ago, practised in a less than mindful way with thumping techno reverberating through the floors, with hard-core cardio workout and poses in mind to achieve. It wasn’t until life threw Jamie some unexpected curve balls that Jamie found herself back at the feet of yoga, searching for the sense of quietness and clarity within that the practise brought. Since then, Jamie has continued to deepen her self-exploration through yoga study, emotional release bodywork, psychosomatic therapy, yoga therapy and meditation. Yoga for Jamie became so much more than a workout only on the mat; it became the empowering practise of continually learning to honour, listen and communicate effectively with one’s body-mind.
