Whilst it is certainly not a prerequisite for practice, in Kundalini Yoga it is recommended to wear natural, white clothing to practice. So how did white clothing become a dress code for Kundalini Yogis?
Yogi Bhajan, the renowned master who brought Kundalini Yoga to the western world, spoke about white clothing bringing a certain pureness, clarity and cleanliness to those wearing them. He said energetically speaking, white colours help to extend the energetic body field which gives you a sense of strength, expansion and projection of your own energy. Wearing white expands your aura and creates a powerful interface between you and your environment and natural fibres help as energy conduits and conduct prana and energy.
In many ways, wearing white clothing has become a dress code for Kundalini yogis around the world. That said, Kundalini Yoga is for everyone, no matter whether you wear white or dark colours. Essentially, it is a personal choice, and you should wear what you feel best in. You'll still get the benefits of the practice if you wear other colours!
When I first began practicing Kundalini Yoga, I found it hard to find white clothing that I felt comfortable in. For this reason, at Kundalini Yoga Brisbane, we went searching for a range of yoga clothing that is comfortable, natural and light.
We found the perfect yoga pants to practice comfortably and in style. Made from 100% cotton, our yoga clothing is light, breathable and perfect for Kundalini Yoga! Practice with comfort with these cotton Kundalini Yoga Pants.
The 100% cotton yoga pants are suited to a range of body shapes and sizes and are loose fitting. We currently stock both Medium and Large sizes, but have found that due to the loose fit, both sizes are quite adaptable to different body sizes. People who usually wear a Small size, will normally fit well into a Medium. We also stock comfortable, quality singlets and T-shirts. You can contact us if you have any questions about the sizes.
