Embodying your Feminine and Masculine Energies

SHAKTI symbolises the feminine principle, the activating power and energy.

“As a woman, you have the capacity to nurture everything into existence. You also have the capacity to destroy anything in your wake. Discerning when and how to apply Shakti means success or failure in your relationships, your goals, and even your destiny. Balancing your polarities is a woman’s grace.” Sat Purkh Kaur Khalsa

Shakti is working whenever energy exists or a power is activated. When the Kundalini is activated this is the Shakti prana or life-force flowing through the channels of the nadis and culminating at intersections known as chakras.  The creativity of energy flow that leaps and skips along the currents of the meridians and nadis, prancing up to that empty slate to throw some life and colour on display.

Kundalini yoga awakens this primal Shakti energy in the true divine form.

“Woman needs her own Shakti, not anybody else’s. When a woman chants the Kundalini mantra God clears the way. For the Shakti mantra tunes one into the divine mother and to the primal protective, generating energy. It is said that chanting with this Shakti mantra will eliminate fears and fulfill desires” Yogi Bhajan, founder of Kundalini Yoga.

The use of the Adi Shakti meditation in Kundalini Yoga is to plant the seed in all levels of the consciousness that the goddess is in all of us. In a world where women are building up their presence and power this will lift the energy of equality and the neutral understanding that we are man and woman. We are both yin and yang, sun and moon, Shiva and Shakti - within one human body.

SHIVA is the masculine. The consciousness and therefore blank slate of presence.

Man, woman and child all contain these masculine and feminine aspects, to understand the ebb and flow of the shiva and Shakti is to be spiritually aware of life.

To utilize Kundalini Yoga practice is to be emotionally and intuitively intelligent. By celebrating the divine Shakti activation through kundalini awakening.

In a group meditation and kriya, the collective Shakti prana of the group uplifts the individual into the universal infinite with the capacity to hold eachother in that womb of energy, as healing and transformation occurs. We all become one, all as mother, daughter, grandmother and the next level of spiritual awakening can occur. This is only possible in a group meditation, for in that safe space held by your kundalini yoga teacher, you are giving service to others equally as much as you are receiving.

Many cultures throughout history have had a gathering of women to activate and create an energy of love and power. That’s truly the essence of the Shakti. As mother she gives unconditionally, as woman she receives with empowerment, as grandmother she becomes wise to the world. To be in that space of a class full of women (or the men channeling their Shakti). To feel the mother, the gifting, the seva. To abundantly receive with gratitude of the daughter, and to hold the Ajna of awakening Giaan, wisdom of the ages. This is fully experiencing the Goddess herself.

With Kundalini awakening the primal power of Shakti energy rises in it’s true form.

“Woman has to understand her role is not to worship God; her role is to be the very self of God. Her oneness can affect and open every heart.” Yogi Bhajan

Welcome to the age of Aquarius dear ones. Let’s bring this collective unity to a new level, celebrate the Shakti in us all and awaken to a new balanced dimension. One Kundalini Yoga class at a time.
